The Rosary Effect
This tiny finger Rosary, adorned with delicate baby feet, has a story that continues to unfold. My heart rejoices in the way the Holy Spirit has blessed me and my friends with this sacramental. The most wonderful people in my life are woven into this mystery of a Lost Treasure Found.
Jim Shrader called late in the evening to wish me a happy birthday. The call amazed me nearly as much as seeing the finger rosary for the first time. A couple hours earlier Phil Thomason and I were discussing ways to replicate the rosary using clay or silicone to make molds. It dawned on me that Jim Shrader was the perfect man to contact for help.
Jim is a talented inventor and creator of the most beautiful and unique jewelry. He has patented solid gold claps that are manufactured throughout the world. We are blessed to have many of his creations on our hands and around our necks. I am proud to be Jim’s friend and financial advisor for decades.
It was great to hear from Jim on my birthday and even more so to share the story of the finger rosary. I sent him an email with Lost Treasure Found while we talked. Jim was moved by the story and wanted to help me make more. He called me the next day and methodically explained the process of making 3-D casts, then connecting them in a ‘tree’, making a mold and then injecting them with hot liquid metal. We could choose from just about any metal and plate them as well.
I took the rosary to his office located inside Guy Beards Designs on Hendrix Ave. This is the location of Jim’s new jewelry business. He introduced me to his partners and staff. He was very excited to hold the finger rosary and examined it like only a jeweler can.
